Beta Readers

I would like some input on my new novel. First, I started it, giving the background but I'm thinking that it is too lengthy. I like to write humorous romances, too much back story can hurt.
So, I'm re-writing it, starting at the funny points.
I'd like a couple of readers to look at both 1st chapters and tell me which they would prefer reading.
