I just designed a letter to send out for the holidays for my company. This is the conversation between me and my boss:

Me: Well, here’s the design for the holiday letter, what do you think?

Boss: I hate it.

Me: Ok…well, what don’t you like, what changes do you suggest?

Boss: I wanted happy things. I didn’t want the holidays to be the focus, just like happy things.

Me: Ok, could you be more specific about “happy things”?

Boss: I guess it’s alright, I just wanted happy things on the letter. See what you can do about that.
