A couple of new releases I've heard about

I've just found out about 2 new releases and these books are going straight on my to-read list, in fact, I've already started reading one of them.

Firstly, Lisette Brodey has released the second book in her paranormal YA series: the "Desert Series", DESERT STAR. Having read the first book in the series, I'm very much looking forward to reading this one.

You can get a copy from Amazon by following the link: http://www.amazon.com/DESERT-STAR-Des...

This series would make a great Christmas gift for the book lover in your life. Even though it's listed as a Young Adult series, I think it can be enjoyed by all ages.

The first book in the series, Mystical High is currently available at just 99 cents: http://www.amazon.com/MYSTICAL-HIGH-D...

The second new release I've heard about is a collection of short stories with Christmas as a theme. Justin Bog has just published Hark---A Christmas Collection. This is a collection of six short stories. I couldn't wait to start reading them and have read the first three already. They are not your typical Christmas stories, they uncover and examine the darker and lonelier side of Christmas. Justin's writing is compulsive reading and I'm enjoying this book. It's the perfect time of year to read it.

You can get your copy here (in Kindle or paperback): http://www.amazon.com/Hark--Christmas...

I think this would make the perfect gift for the short story lover in your life.

Justin Bog So floored, Maria, by your comment here. It's nice to wake up (even with the pain of a stress fracture in my right foot hobbling me) and crutching over to my computer to get the day started and discover your lovely words about Hark! I hope for a better year ahead for you and yours and your own writing life. At this point, it is a compulsion I welcome. These tales had to walk a fine line where too sugary and trite holiday themes, wording, necessarily, had to be banished in the editing phase. ever, Justin

Maria Sorry to hear about your foot, Justin! Hope you get better soon. I am recovering from flu at the moment (or struggling to recover from it!) your book helped to take my mind off it a bit yesterday. I'll be reading the rest of the stories soon. I knew it would be brilliant, like all your writing. I actually prefer dark fiction these days, and my own writing is going in that direction...

Justin Bog I have to give a reading tonight --- it's for a charitable organization helping the homeless near here and I never expected to be using a cane . . . will read Bracelet, and the cane will be a reminder. So sorry you've been feeling ill. Tea and healing sent this second over the pond. I can't believe Hark is even up and out since I haven't published anything since May of 2013. Time and other family issues somehow blocked my own writing progress. Just keep going . . . that's why I like writing a weekly serial too; it gives me a deadline and forces me into action . . . ha!

Maria Have fun at the reading :) Bracelet is excellent, I'm sure everyone will enjoy it. Really unexpected ending to that one!
Thanks for the tea & healing :) x
I have to find time to catch up with your weekly serial... so great that you have been able to keep that up. I see you have a new book coming out in 2015, too. I think you've been quite productive.

Maria I'm sure I'll love Desert Star, Lisette. I've read all your other books and they're all among my faves. It's waiting on my Kindle :)
Happy Christmas xx
