Oh, I Remember Those Things – I Think They Are Called Words
So I was doing well with writing in the fifth White Dragon Black novel, ‘Backstabbers and Believers’. I was slowly writing more and more each day and was looking forward to coming into Windsor to get even more words written.
Then… we had a power outage that lasted over 24 hours. That slowed things down a bit.
Then the next day I had to pack everything up to take into the city. Can’t write much with the computer packed up.
The next day, the third day I was all set up and rearing to go…. except I wasn’t actually in the zone. The desire but not the mood. The will but not the way.
everyday I’d stare at the manuscript up on my screen and … get no where. It mocked my and my days were long and unfruitful.
Yesterday I put on my ear phones. I selected my ‘Alvey’ play list and hit play. Then I went to the story and wrote. I wrote a decent amount, actually.
This morning I was determined not to let yesterday be a fluke and it wasn’t another thousand words written. A good start but I hope to do another several hundred later today, either in the novel or maybe a short story.
Either way, I hope to make my second week as productive as I was hoping the whole trip would be. As long as my Muse will at least sent memo’s and I keep my focus, I should be able to make serious headway in the days left to me.
