And so it began...

Back in 2011 I was in a job I didn't like, mainly because there was nothing to do. Seriously - I watched ten seasons of Family Guy at the time. But I can't complain too much, because that was when Angel in Training was started.

Actually, that's a lie. One paragraph in and I'm already lying...

I started typing this out and then deleted it. To explain where the story came from I have to go further back. Not too far back - just to 2005.

At this point I was in my third year (of four) of an American Studies degree. I won't say much more on the degree - you can see the About C. L. Coffey page if you want to know why I took that - other than the fact that my third year was to be spent abroad in Louisiana.

The moment I stepped off the plane, I knew I was 'home'. Even now, that place has claimed a large chunk of my heart, and I go back out there as often as I can. Louisiana is where I met a good friend, and it was because of her that I was back out there in 2010, for her wedding. And it was because of her that Angel in Training started to take shape.

Fast forward to late 2011. After watching Family Guy, and several other shows, I moved on to writing. At first it was FanFiction (again, more information on that, see the author bio page), but then I realised I had a story to tell which the FanFiction just couldn't cover. So I started writing. I didn't even plot it. The story just flowed.

For two months I did little else at work. (Again, no exaggeration.) The story was 90% complete. Sadly, as the story was ending, so was my job. The reason I was doing nothing was because there was nothing to do, and they realised that things weren't great financially, I was made redundant.

I'm going to skip six months now. The highlights of this period were that I was in a job that I hated and as such, didn't want to write. Maybe one day I will tell you what happened, but for now, that's all you need to know.

It took me a while to get back into writing again, but I did because Angel's story wasn't finished. So I wrote. And once I'd finished writing, I started editing. And editing, and editing. And then it was done. Or at least, I was.
Picture I know how you feel, Dean And that's where I am now. Actually, it's being edited again - but by someone else now.

I've decided that it's ready (or at least it will be after editing), and it is time for this story to get out there.

I'm aiming to publish in February. So far, I'm on track, and I'm going to keep you updated all the way.
