POETRY: CELTIC BY PAUL TRISTRAM

If I were to cut a chunk

out of the side of my Soul

you would see it veined,

marbled and ingrained

completely through

with Celtic knot-work.

Like the age rings

inside of an oak tree

and the candy writing

inside of Porthcawl rock.

I am absolutely riddled

through with Welsh Pride

and Celtic Ancestry,

from top-most leaf

right down to deepest root
