Isn't this an odd twist on the numbers game? I've wondered about it myself.

I know myself when I find an author I like, I load up my Kindle with his/her books. The Kindle makes it so easy to have all the titles available anytime anywhere!
Kindle swindle, I say. People flagrantly throw a paperback's worth of cash away everyday on a pack of cigarettes or some other nonsense. I'm glad if e-readers increase reader voracity, but they are ultimately sucking cash from the book industry. It may not be the author that's hit in this case, but publishers and bookshops will be squeezed to death. And believe me, if this happens we will lose quality and the cultural impetus on which it depends.
