Mode of Transpo

Mode of Transpo

When you live near a big city that is also a major transportation hub, the options for a day in the city are plentiful.  Bus? Takes time, lots of stop-and-go, smelly, hot, but good views on the way in, providing, of course, that your city is pretty. Train? Need to get to a train station, expensive, can break down underground(!), good views are only above-ground, but fast.  Car? Traffic jam-ups, no view since you’re concentrating on driving, expensive to park, possibility of a parking ticket, but door-to-door service.  Cab? You never know who’s driving, can screw you by taking the long way, but at least you’re not the one driving.  Doing it every day is called “commuting,” and that is a terrible thing.  But a one-day visit to the city?  Let’s face it – that makes you a tourist.
