Medieval torture?
I hope all of my American friends and readers are coping with this brutal fore-taste of winter, and for all of you lucky enough to live in the Southern Hemisphere, count your blessings!
Here is a fun quiz from one of my favorite websites, Medievalists.net. According to my results, I’d be most likely to put enemies into the stocks, enjoying the psychological humiliation they would endure. I am tempted to take the quiz on behalf of several of my more bloodthirsty characters and see what gruesome punishments they’d have preferred.

What torture would you have gone with, Blair? The worst one seems to be rats!
LOL... mine was to strap my enemy to a table so I could take my time and be as creative and thorough as I could be... which it suggested would be rather unpleasant for my victim... er, guest. Doesn't sound like me at all! LOL... no, not at all!
I need a keeper, for I actually took the quiz on behalf of my Angevin characters. Richard chose the rack. Eleanor and Geoffrey preferred the rack And Henry and John went with rats--I admit I hadn't expected that of Henry. :-)
I did it again... this time I got: "You are a creative thinker, and your enemies would be wise not to underestimate your imagination. Your preferred torture method is to restrain your victim on a flat, horizontal surface, then use inventive ways to trap rats so that their only means of escape is through the victim’s body. Not a pretty picture." LOL... they stole that from a Cornell Woolrich story "The Copper Bowl". I must have missed the rats the first time I read it... nasty.Oops... The Copper Bowl was written by George Fielding Eliot. My mistake!

I got the stocks as well... but I took the test again for a favourite historical figure of mine and they got The Rack! Direct and Brutal. Haha, yeah I can't say I'm surprised.
I'm lazy - I got Exposure. Just toss them outside and be done with it!
I heard on the news this morning, last night all 50 states had temperatures below freezing...even Hawaii had below freezing on one island.
Are you going to keep us in suspense, Iset, about this historical figure who favors the rack?
Edward Teach "Blackbeard", Sharon. Yes, I can't say I'm surprised by that result. Brutal and direct fits the bill perfectly.
I got exposure: "You are nothing if not efficient. I was relieved that I got the stocks! Wouldn't want to think of myself as someone who enjoys inflicting pain.
I got the rack, like many people. I'm not a person who wants to hurt people but I must admit that out of all the methods that sounds the most like me.
I got exposure too. I can't see myself throwing people out naked to die of exposure but then other ways seem much worse. Rats? Shudders!!!!!
