FALLING INTO FOREVER_A BOOK REVIEW
Today's book review takes a stroll down romance lane into a little town called Wintersage.OVERVIEW:
The Silk Sisters—longtime friends Janelle, Sandra and Vicki—have turned their business savvy into a top-tier event agency. And in the wealthy enclave of Wintersage, Massachusetts, there's an abundance of lavish parties, society drama and longing hearts to keep them busy.
Growing up among the powerful and privileged, formal-wear designer Sandra Woolcott learned early on to never show weakness—just smile and hold your head high. And ten years ago, when her young heart was broken, she learned just how strong she really was….
When Isaiah Jacobs left for the Naval Academy, he said he didn't want to hold Sandra back—although he really wanted to hold on to her forever. Sandra let him go, masking her hurt with a glittering social life and career. Now Isaiah is back in Wintersage to care for his ailing father. And when he and Sandra meet again, it's all they can do not to fall for each other once more.
But they've built such different lives, and so many years have passed—is their long-ago love worth the risk? Can they bury the pain of the past and build a promising future together?
**I actually won the book, an owl mug, and pumpkin spice coffee in a contest along with some other gifts from Phyllis Bourne. However, those factors did not influence my review.
REVIEW:
This romantic novel was the most thrilling love story of the season.
Sandra Woolcott is utterly dedicated to business as a high-end fashion designer for the town's elite. She has no time for love or another broken heart, but her mind is focused on taking her business to a national level.
Isaiah Jacobs is simply returning home to care for his sick father for a short while. His future plans are firmly established in pursuing his dreams of becoming an artist. He will not let anything deter him from his goals again.
Both Sandra and Isaiah are caught off guard when they run into one another at a harvest fair. Determined to be the mature adults they've become, Sandra and Isaiah realize they can carry on a friendship and leave the past relationship behind them. But the more time they spend together, the more they want to explore the parts of their relationship they left untouched as teenagers. Hearts cannot choose whom they will love, and such is the case for these two.
I enjoyed the strength of his character as a man. He was mature and steadfast in pursuing his goals, yet, not so stubborn that he would lose what he really wanted out of life. I appreciated the feistiness of Sandra's character and how she was able to balance everything she had going on in her life, and still pursue her dreams.
This book set the tone for my favorite season, Autumn. Phyllis Bourne did a wonderful job setting the stage of the town's autumn season, giving detailed descriptions of the backdrop of the story. She wove a story with characters whose personalities were endearing and vibrant, allowing you to become easily connected with them and their stories. Her imagery of the town and the characters were so descriptive that you could easily see this book as a Lifetime Movie, or a holiday movie on the Hallmark Channel.
You will find yourself rooting for the off stories of characters such as, Jordan, Octavia Hall, and Vicki. If you've never been a romance fan, I encourage you to start your love affair with, Falling into Forever.
