Synarchy Book 3: NaNoWriMo Update #2
As you all know, I’m participating in National Novel Writing Month. I am a little behind. However, I am also determined. And I promised you all snippets. So! I’ve got a few scheduled for you. They will pop up the rest of the weekend. Reminder these are unedited, raw, straight from my brain to the paper and complete with the notes I write to myself as I’m writing. They are out of order because I write in scenes, not necessarily chronologically all the time. Warnings out of the way. Enjoy! Feel free to guess, speculate, what have you with what’s going on, and where it might lead. I just might tell you if you’re right.
A dark cloudless night [hmm to cliché or not to cliché]. You could see a million stars from the field, the nearest city lights too far away to compete with the light of a star a billion light years away.
Everything was peaceful here. A faint breeze carried the smell of a grassy field and played with blades of grass as it passed by. The ball of Light was so small it was easy to mistake it for a firefly. It skittered through the breeze, laughing at the playful nature of air. The Light hovered over the field and in those seconds determined via a complicated algorithm whether or not the spot could hold the energy required for the message.
It was determined that it was. Buzzing happily, the tiny ball of Light began. It whipped through the field, depressing the long stalks, moving so fast if a hum watched and blinked one moment there would be nothing. And in the next what the mortals of earth like to call a crop circle had appeared.
Job complete, the tiny ball of light flittered away tagging the wind so as to resume their game.
