Lucien Damrill, the fourth son of a Viscount inherits no land or title, so instead he creates the Sapphire Club. Lucien's life has been going as he wants until the bride who deserted him the day after they were married ten years ago shows up. Lucien knows Serenity is running from something, but if she wants to stay he'll turn her into his perfect submissive "creature of the flesh". What follows is a carnal feast. The sex scenes are extreme. I felt hot the whole time I read this book. Not to mention the fact that I stayed up to 3am because I couldn't stop reading.
I'll be honest, I didn't bond with Lucien and Serenity immediately. The mouth-watering sexuality of the book is what kept me reading. Lucien and Serenity were not a love match, rather a marriage of convenience. Initially both were together for very cross purposes. Instead of feeling intense attraction to each other, their inner monologue reflected their motivations. If at the beginning Serenity and Lucien were totally turned on to each other in their thoughts, I would have been drooling. Serenity and Lucien's feelings change through their sex games. It's only at the book's climax, that Lucien truly admits his feelings to himself. I enjoyed this book and see incredible potential in Ms. Addams's writing. I look forward to reading more of her books.
If you're looking for a temperature-raising sensual and carnal story, Serenity's journey at the Sapphire club will surely satisfy.
