Quick NaNo Update

I am slightly behind on the word count (the troubles of being an adult and having to work and earn money and all), but the novel is still proceeding apace. My main characters have just set off on a quest to find a way out (if one exists) of the Island of Misfit One-Scene Characters. To give you an idea of what this story is shaping up to be, here is a listing of the main characters:

Edmund Plum, a mysterious knight-sorcerer with a magical map, who might be known already to readers of the Catrina Chronicles
The Ghost of Hamlet’s Father, who is bitter about being relegated to the status of one-scene wonder character when he was in three scenes
Bill the Elf, who hopes to become a literary theory professor at the Island University like his father Herbert,
Sally the Sanguine Sorceress of the South, who has found herself mistaken for the Wicked Witch of the East and is attempting to correct the error
Burton Piper, a giant rat who serves on the Island’s security team
Darlene Dove, who was part of a paranormal romance novel before she was kicked out by Mary Sue
Bruneseau, the Parisian sewer inspector from Les Miserables
Jason Waterfalls, Lord of Charmingfell

This is going to be a fun quest. I can tell.
