Chapter 261: Share the Wealth
After evensong, Taweel sent Omri to find Tamaes. His apprentice soon ambled into view, tugged along by the little angel who had him by the hair. With a relaxed smile, Tamaes asked, “Am I summoned for assignment, song, or reprimand? Omri refuses to say.”
Taweel huffed and rubbed his thumb over the black stone on his sword hilt. “Shall we look?”
“You have not checked?” Tamaes joined his mentor on the low garden wall. “I love this part.”
“That is why I waited.” With a musical scrape, Taweel slowly unsheathed his blade.
Tamaes whispered, “Twenty-two. We will need more tents.”
