Thanks for the post, I am just fascinated that the original gospel ends with the instruction to tell the disciples, and Peter, that he is going before them to galilee.
Simply because, as you know, Peter refers to Mark as "my son" It just strikes me as very nostalgic on the part of Mark. A much more meaningful ending in my opinion. Also I suspect the concept of "going before" meant a lot more than just face value to these early disciples. Reminds me of Paul's statement of "good works He has prepared"
