There's this post that floats around Facebook every few months or so, challenging authors to post 7 lines from the 7th line of the 7th page of their latest work in progress.
For me, it's Crave which I'm busy writing my butt off to finish by the end of this month.
This is my 7 lines from the 7th line of the 7th page of
Crave - Release date to be announced by the end of the month.
Leaning over her, I purposefully steer clear of her lips as she tries to kiss me. It serves to reiterate that my message about not being interested in anything other than sex with her has not been received.
I’m careful not to encourage intimacy because it’s something that is definitely not wanted and to be honest, has simply never been there with her or any other woman I’ve been with. I’ve never been able to let myself go completely with a woman. The guard is always, and forever will be up. Call it a well-honed protection mechanism, one crafted out of both necessity and experience.
Pulling out of her when I feel her legs going limp around me, I ease my body to the side of hers and free her. Making sure to keep my distance, I rise up off the bed and give her a quick once over. She looks up at me with doe eyes and a drowsy smile, looking well sated and relaxed and I know it’s time to end this charade.
Would LOVE to hear what you think so far :)
AND...if this is with the main character, I hope this is not how you are going to describe their steamy scenes.
So far, based on what I have read, it seems he is going to turn into another Alpha/sweet hero...which is perfectly fine with me !!
