Splitting the Difference Between Past + Present

While it may be a few years before there’s enough content to fill a book about me and my daughter, essays enable me to share the evolution of our relationship in (somewhat) real time. The latest one is included in the Dec. issue of Red magazine in the UK, and captures my experience of moving Laurie and her BFF closer to campus last summer. As you might remember from this post, that week felt like a priceless stream of do-over moments for me: a thousand second chances to experience what I’d missed in her first 18 years.
