Ugh, that’s one of the worst—most insidious, perhaps—catcalls, IMO. Because it’s not overtly sexual, the men who do it don’t have any clue how uncomfortable it is for the women they say it to. They can pretend it’s a compliment or service, pretend they’re saying it to make a woman’s day “brighter” somehow. But it just enforces that “women must be pretty and nice and pleasant/pleasing at all times” cultural thing we’ve had ground into us.
