Turning the Tables on Taylor with Lanie’s Lessons

Buy Links: Amazon I B&N I ARe I BB  Blurb:Attorney Lanie Fischer is a force to be reckoned with in the courtroom, but the stress of her caseload has been mounting relentlessly. She puts on a brave face at work, but behind closed doors Lanie has become an emotional wreck, and her husband, law professor Ethan Fischer, is tired of watching her self-destruct. She’s not sleeping, she’s lost weight, and their sex life is starting to suffer. Something has to give, and as far as he is concerned, it is time for a radical new approach. From now on, Ethan decides, his wife will be spending quite a bit of quality time over his knee with her bottom bare, learning some lessons she has needed for a long time.
Some of Lanie’s spankings turn out to be purely erotic, ending with the hottest sex she and Ethan have ever had, but others are meant to teach her what happens when naughty wives disobey their husbands and fail to take care of themselves. Unconventional though it may be, to her surprise Lanie soon begins to crave both her husband’s sexier spankings and his discipline as well. But can she live happily as a loving wife and obedient submissive at home even as she battles in court at work every day, or will the conflicting demands tear her apart.
Publisher’s Note: Lanie’s Lessons is an erotic romance novel that contains spankings, sexual scenes, elements of medical play and BDSM, anal play, and more. If such material offends you, please don’t buy this book. Interview with Maddie Taylor!!

It's my turn to put her in the hot seat! *inserts evil laugh* To check out our previous interview with me in the hot seat click HERE

Now here is Maddie!
MT: No fair, Kristin, turning the tables on the interviewer and putting her in the hotseat as the interviewee. Hmph!

KE: haha I know you can do it Maddie! It is fun! Now I know everyone wants to know what is your biggest challenge as an author?

MT: Balance. Finding the right mix of blogging, promoting, and social media activity, and leaving enough time to write. Both are crucial, but if you’re not writing, you don’t have anything to promote. Conversely, if you don’t promote, blog or work social media, you might not have any reason to write.

KE: I can totally understand that. Sometimes I spend too much time on social media and not enough time writing. We all do that sometimes right? But let us talk about something more fun. Reviews, getting them good or bad are a nature of the business. What do you think about reviews? Do you take them personally, use them as an opportunity for growth or change, or do you just get royally pissed off??

MT: I try to take them constructively and improve. The only thing that really bothers me is getting a bad review for having spanking in my spanking romance. If the product description says. ‘if you find this subject matter objectionable, don’t buy this book’. Please believe it. It’s there for a reason.

KE: I don't think people read the blurb sometimes and if they do they don't really heed the warnings at all and then it results in a bad review. That is really the worst kind of review. I'm sorry but on a more positive note what advice would you give to aspiring writers?

MT: Find a good beta/editor and listen to them. If they say, this would be a good time for a joke or a spanking, or, Ew, that word is not at all sexy, or, something isn’t right about this sentence, it pulled me out of the story, someone else will feel the same way. I love my numero uno beta extraordinaire. I don’t know whether to out her, so I won’t. She’s also an author and has been my go to girl for over a year now.

KE: Perfectly said Maddie! How about some fun questions…Are you ready? What are you reading right now?

MT: Who has time to read? Since becoming an author, I rarely have time to read (and that’s such a shame), but I still have a day job. I also beta read. When I’m in between books, I go to SatSpanks and WIP it up Wednesday to find something for pleasure. SatSpanks often does a number on my credit card.

KE: Oh no! I couldn't live without reading! I hope you have some more time to read soon. Yes my credit card has often been affected by SatSpanks too! Wait! Question! Do you read outside of the genre you write? I know I do! If yes, what else do you enjoy to read?

MT: Oh yes! I read vanilla as well as spanking romance and BDSM. Too dark is not my thing, I like romance, as long as there is an Alpha male or a Dom, I’ll love it, but there must be a happily ever after. I do read a biography here and there, but mostly fiction to escape.

KE: Alpha male or a Dom? That sounds super fun. Who is your favorite author/why?

MT: I love everything by Kristen Ashley. She is mostly vanilla but writes awesome Alpha male heroes and has a step over the line, just slightly, a few times with a few swats or alluding to some swats. I must sense that and be reading her inner kinkster vibe between the lines. Of course, there was Knight, in her unfinished heroes series. Nice. Cherise Sinclair is a close second.

KE: I haven't heard of her but I will be checking her out! What a lovely recommendation. How about movies?

MT: I love movies. When my face isn't stuck in my laptop, writing, I love to curl up on the couch with my hubby and a big bowl of buttery popcorn. It's the best! Unfortunately, I have to watch some of the scary horror he likes, but in exchange he has to watch my corny RomComs. I’ll admit it, I love Gone With the Wind, Dirty Dancing and Pretty Woman.

KE: I don't like scary movies either but they often end in some cuddle time so it works to my favor. Do your friends/family know you write erotic fiction?

MT: Nope. The only one who knows is my husband. He calls me by my pen name sometimes and freaks me out.

KE: That would freak me out too! Like woah! Alright Maddie give me five fun facts about yourself:

1. I am a cat person. Princess Cleo is her name. I am her person. J Our lab only tolerates me when his person, my DH is around. Otherwise, to him, I’m that cat lady.

2. I went to Catholic school for five years. Wore the plaid skirt, white peter pan collared blouse and patent leather shoes, and all. It was not as much fun as Lanie had with Ethan. Trust me!

3. Give me a lemon drop, or give me death. Okay, not so dramatic, but I do like a lemon martini while lounging in my float in the pool where I think of wonderfully, sexy story lines. Is it the pool or the vodka? Who cares?

4. I play really bad acoustic guitar, but I can sing, or so I think.

5. I am a nurse in my day job. I worked in the ER for several years. Nothing surprises me, now. Not the man in the robe who walked in with his Electrolux in hand, the hose affixed to his, um… you know. He said there was some swelling and he couldn’t get it off. “It” being the hose. LOL There were also many foreign objects stuck in holes that had to be extracted. Never a dull moment in the ER. There isn’t anything I haven’t seen!

Thank you so much for visiting me Maddie! For those of you who have read this far please leave your email for a chance to win a copy of Maddie's new book! Lanie’s Lessons!
