Curiouser and Curiouser: Considering the “Dick Pic”

By Liz Everly

I’m so glad my fellow Lady Smut Blogger Alexa Day has been considering the Tinder conversation from Lady’s Smut Girl’s Night Out. I’ve been considering some of the conversations there, too. I’ve been thinking about the “dick pic” chat.

shutterstock_153035351So, as you can imagine many of the women there were completely turned-off by them. They think pictures of cocks are nasty. (So interesting because men still send them, right? What do they think they are doing? Is any woman out there asking for these photos?)

I wondered if I was the only person there who was thinking I’d rather see THAT than so many other things I’ve been sent photos of. And I was also thinking it would be quite entertaining. But this is probably because I’ve been married for almost 25 years.

A friend of mine’s niece was sent a picture once during a family gathering. Seriously. This was a picture of her ex-boyfriend, who was pleading for her to come back—and so he sent her a picture of his erect “member.” (huh?) So, all of the women in the family passed it around and laughed for hours. The oldest woman there said, “Well, bless his heart.” That’s what I mean by entertaining. Maybe that seems mean? But that’s one of many things that could happen when you send a naked body part to an ex-girlfriend or anybody, for that matter. (In fact, we’ve all heard and read the horror stories. Most recently, I learning of a new girlfriend getting a hold of an old girlfriend’s naked pictures she found on her new guy’s phone. She posted them to Facebook.)

Except for the niece in the above scenario, the rest of the women in the group were married and way past the blushing stage when it comes to any part of any person’s anatomy. Which is pretty much where I am. But that’s not to say I want men to send me photos (please don’)—it’s just to say unless it’s in the room with me, as in-person and touchable, I don’t really care about said dick. And I also know how to block unwanted attention. Apparently some of these other women do not.

I look at the whole thing as a curiosity. Cocks do come in a variety of shapes and sizes and some women have very stroshutterstock_94118629ng preferences for certain shapes (and some do not). So I think if I were on the Tinder market, for example, where it’s all about “hooking up” a “dick pic” would be welcome. If you have strong preferences, you could sort through until you find the right one that also has an attractive face and body and so on. (Even as I type that, it makes me cringe.)

I think if I were on the dating market I wouldn’t like the way this works.  I prefer a little build-up, a little mystery, you know? (Just what IS inside those jeans? Hmmm?) The one night stand (or quicker hook-up) is nothing new, let’s face it. Now it’s just become more “efficient.” But for me, it feels a little cold and clinical. But maybe that’s the point. No muss, no fuss. What do you think?

In the mean time, tomorrow THE LADY SMUT BOOK OF DARK DESIRES launches. And there’s nothing cold and clinical about this hot, hot, book. You follow our blog. You comment on our blog. Now, give our sexy stories a try.
