NOVEMBER POETRY PROMPT #2:

To get into the spirit of Halloween (the only holiday I really celebrate), I made Miles Walser watch some not-so-scary-scary movies with me. One of them, of course, was The Craft. One of my favorite lines in the movie (no spoiler) is when a bus driver says to a gang of witches departing the bus, “watch out for the weirdos”, and the head witch replies with “We are the weirdos, Mister.”

Today, try writing a poem that borrows that line or that concept. Who are the weirdos in your life? Is this a poem in defense of you family, or in celebration of your artsy group of friends back in high school? Maybe this is a poem about poets.

Have fun and celebrate your weirdness. It’s what makes you, you!
