Giants game over and they won and I survived the stress. And we managed to watch the "Njorl's Saga" Monty Python episode, too — the one where Mrs. Premise and Mrs. Conclusion go to visit the Sartres in Paris. Happy children off to bed, happy me off to slip a bendy straw into the cooking sherry.

Very exciting roller-coaster Giants playoff game on right now. I can't quite watch — I have to go in and peek at the television, then go do some other stuff until the curiosity becomes too great and I sneak in again.

FB Folk Song:

If I had a wall, I'd wall some in the morning, I'd wall some in the evening, all over this land. I'd wall about danger, I'd wall out a warning, I'd wall about the love between my brothers and sisters, all over this Facing Book...

October Profile Parade continues:

I got a rock. Oooh, wait...! It's NOT A rock...!

In Iceland their October holiday is called "Hjallovin". Everyone drinks pumpkin liquor straight for hours. The last person who can listen to Bjork without weeping uncontrollably is crowned King (or Queen) of Hjallovin, and after several more rounds of drinks, is thrown into a fiery crevice. Then they eat imported dark chocolate.

Still thinking about death. Would being swallowed by a giant python in the depths of a stinking jungle never before entered by humans count as "natural causes"...? Because nothing about that would be artificial.

When we lost Solomon Burke and Barbara Billingsley this month, I almost made a comment here about "Which B will we lose next?" And then Tom Bosley goes. Godspeed you all.

Did you know that when it's Halloween in the Northern Hemisphere it's called Weenie Hollow in Australia and New Zealand? People sneak around neighborhoods in the dark trying not to scare anyone while pushing tiny chocolate bars through other people's mail slots.
