An absolutely wonderful interview! I'm going to have to start my re-read of "The War of Light and Shadow" so I'll be ready for book 10.

Highly articulate, as ever. Thank you for posting the link. I like your point about books being a gift of experience, and being able to help those going through a rough time. I've been reading your Wars of Light and Shadow series since Curse of the Mistwraith was published when I was a middle school student, so they certainly feel like old friends who have been with me through thick and thin.

Hi Becky and Jen - thanks for sticking with that big series for the long haul and for posting your comments, here. The interview was taped at the very tail end of DragonCon, just after we had packed up the huge show and table display, so I was utterly fried; it's a great relief that it came out coherent and that the meaning of what I was trying to say came through: that books, fiction and reading have an enormous value, often overlooked.
