I have signed up for NaNoWriMo (National Novel Writing Month), which is a challenge to write a fifty-thousand word novel during the month of November. My work, so far, counts as research an preparation, so I have a good foundation. By doing this, I am deliberately putting pressure on myself to get on with finishing Eleven Miles.
50,000 words will see me close to the end, so I should be publishing in early December.
I have also taken a free thirty-day trial of Scrivener. It seems like a great aid for writers. There are lots of benefits, but one in particular is going to help me a lot. While I am writing the main body, I am continually flipping into my research files and reference material, spending valuable time trying to find what I am looking for. The split pane allows me to view the relevant reference alongside the main body.
I am going to be more productive, and I am determined to get this book finished!
