10/22/14 – day twenty-two of 31 days of horror!

If you love Vincent Price (and really, who doesn’t?) and you love revenge (again, who doesn’t?) you really owe it to yourself to spend a little quality time with Dr. Anton Phibes. Part Phantom of the Opera, part 70’s camp and part grand guignol theater, this madcap romp is a treasure trove of weirdness and spectacular production design. Price, in full horror icon mode, turns in a performance in which he must only use his eyes to emote while speaking through some arcane sort of vocoder…look, you just gotta see it.
