Wow

Some of the recent all-of-a-sudden attempts to appeal to girls and women in comics are ringing very hollow to me, downright condescending at times.

Thank goodness for the good stuff, like Ms. Marvel and Gotham Academy. I think we need a huge influx of female and female-savvy creators from indie comics and other sources because some of this stuff is JUST NOT GOOD.

I am glad to see people make the attempt but sheesh.

EDITED TO ADD: Holy shit, most of you may notice I never remember to do hashtags. If there is ever a hashtag on my post, it’s one that’s there for reasons I don’t even get having to do with Tumblr formatting, I guess.

This post unfortunately decided to have a BATGIRL hashtag, as someone kindly pointed out.

I DO NOT MEAN BATGIRL AND I DID NOT PUT BATGIRL AS A HASHTAG.
