I was late to the game on these books, just read them this year, so I missed it when it came out in theaters (that could also be because I am way out of the age range it was marketed to!). I did borrow the movie from the library and really wasn't a fan, they left so much out of it and changed some important pieces. I think it very well may do better as a television series, I will definitely give it a shot.
