In Case You Missed It – Disney and Universal Orlando News and Rumors

 

Forbes released an intriguing article this week. It took a look at how Disney is interacting with it’s customers in these changing times of fast-moving marketing and how to stay relevant to guests wants and needs. Of course, we know the answer is MyMagic+, but, the article shares some thought-provoking points, nonetheless.

While ground has officially broken for two new Marriott’s in the Flamingo Crossing area of Walt Disney World property, we could actually be seeing a few more hotels in the area; potentially 5 more. Hmmm….

Is the Sorcerer’s Hat leaving Disney’s Hollywood Studios for good? That’s the rumor that’s been floating around this week. Find out why. (Personally, I’ve seen this rumor enough that I won’t believe it until I either see Disney officially announce it, or I see it being knocked down to the ground. Though we do know that there are big changes on the horizon for Disney’s Hollywood Studios, so you never know. This time, it could be true.)

If you are visiting Hawaii with your family, Aulani is where it’s at! The resort hotel was named as the Have you stayed at Aulani yet? What do you think of this resort?

Did you hear that sound earlier this week? That was the sound of jaws hitting the floor when the news came out that Marvel is working on including Robert Downey Jr.’s Iron Man into Captain America 3. Who else was surprised by this news?

If you loved Guardians of the Galaxy, get ready for the new animated series that is expect to hit Disney XD in 2015!

Been wondering how Disney could incorporate the purchase of the online Maker Studios into their business model? We now have an answer; the studio will be providing programming that will air on the Disney Channel and Disney XD.  For Disney Channel, that will take place soon during the “Monstober” programming block. This appears to be just the start of this collaboration between the two companies.

If you love your pets, or just love seeing pets dressed up in cute Disney costumes, then you won’t want to miss “America’s Cutest: Disney Side Howl-o-ween” special on Animal Planet this Saturday, October 18, at 9:00 p.m. EST.

Universal Studios is officially building in China! A new resort will be built in Beijing. I’m curious to find out more details about this park and the attractions that be included as we move forward. (And also whether any of these attractions end up making it stateside.)
