Round Robin Read

I'm participating in a round robin read over at coffeetimeromance. Come check it out. It's a paranormal. I knew that'd get your attention.

Here's my first contribution, but there's plenty of story before this too:

At last Eve found herself in his arms. She'd dreamed of this moment; daydreamed about touching him, being touched by him. Even in a room full of people she felt alone with him. Completely wrapped up in his eyes, in his arms. He smelled so good but she resisted the temptation to press her nose against his hard chest and inhale deeply.

The music was soft, intimate. The seductive melody required nothing more than a gentle sway; her hand in his, the other resting on his shoulder.

His hand slid further around her back, pulling her a fraction closer. That fraction made the moment that much more dangerous. It would be so easy to forget who she was. Who he was. And yet…she couldn't help herself. Two years was a long time to wait.

She shut her eyes soaking in the moment, memorizing it in case this was as close as she ever got to–

"May I cut in?" Eve's eyes popped open and she glanced over her shoulder to find Gregory, hand outstretched.

Ryan's hand tightened around hers and strange deep sound rumbled from his chest.
