Disclosure: Let’s Get After It

Men know we need to have spiritually meaningful, life-giving connections with other men. But what we often don’t know is how to get there. Men generally want to relate in the context of an activity, but going fishing together is no guarantee we’ll actually talk about things that really matter. So what does it take for men to disclose? The keys to our transparency are confidentiality and reciprocation—and getting to a place of real disclosure is vital to being the men God has called us to be. There is a reason we’re to confess our sins to one another, and it isn’t to get forgiveness.

Jennifer Absolutely! Women are the same way! My boyfriend & I have been having trouble lately with that though. I mean we have each other. But we both know it is not enough. We need someone of our own gender too! He had a close friend he met when he started at Harvest that they were inseparable but then a few years later he moved to Arizona. Then he met another guy at Harvest about 3 or 4 years ago & they got close (we actually met through through this guy) but he passed awaya year this December. The last guy he started to get closer with moved to Kentucky for his job about April or May. It's starting to seem like everytime my boyfriend gets closer to a guy something happens that involves them going away. It worries me that my boyfriend is having such a hard time having someone he can do life with the only way Godly men can! Yes, he has a small group but sometimes it feels like everyone is too busy outside of the alloted small group time to get deep with each other. As for me, I have to work on my trust with other women. I have an accountability partner & I love her!
