"I used to think Prozac was going to banish my bad moods, but it didn't work," Julie said. "I took six of them before my Gramma's funeral, and I cried the whole time."

"You have to take them every day," Emu said. "Not all at once."

James added, "They probably don't work as well when one washes them down with a gallon of coffee whilst chain-smoking."

"What drugs were you doing while you were on Prozac?" Liam asked.
"I was drinking a lot. I smoked a little weed, but I loved Xanny* bars! Oh, and Percocet. I liked Percs."

"Do you think all those drugs might have cancelled out any benefits you could have gotten from the Prozac?" I asked, trying not to sound judgmental.

Julie thought for a moment before saying, "Maybe, but listen, I prayed, meditated, and did yoga when I got up in the afternoon. I cut back on carbs, and I walked a lot. None of it worked."

"It's all about help," I said. "Prayer, medication, meditation, diet, and exercise can help you, if you help them. Help them by not making them work against alcohol, marijuana, Xanax, and Percocet! By the way, there's no such thing as drinking people under the table at Starbucks! Sticking your head out of the shower to smoke is a really bad sign."

Today I will help the helpers.

*Xanny bars are 2mg Xanax pills. The pill is elongated and divided into four .5mg doses that are easily split up.
