As you know, the old cover (as stated on the cover) from The Return was a placeholder cover and not the final version.
When we started planning for Apollycon, an awesome event featuring twenty-some authors that you can read more about HERE , someone involved in the planning had said they wanted to see ‘Seth” there, at the event. At first I was pretty much like this.
Mainly because it is so hard to find models that remotely resemble a character. And it’s doubly hard when you’re looking for a model that resembles a character that has already been in 5 books (The Covenant Series). But hey, I’m totally game for scoping out the pictures of hot dudes.
That’s about when Ellie from Love N Books was brought into the fold. She’s pretty much the gate keeper for hot models. The process of finding our Seth didn’t take very long. The first photo I got of him was this:
And I was like
But I was like I need to see more, and I think Ellie just likes to draw crap out, because then I ended up with this picture
And once again, I was all like…

But I was like dammit woman, I need to see his face. Okay. Well, what I’ve seen so far, I’m wasn’t even sure that was entirely necessary, but finally we saw Drew.
Everyone on the team was pretty much like…

So once we had our Seth, we needed to get the covers made. Yes. Plural. The first couple of shots was honestly pretty cool to see. Mainly because Drew was putting on the black pants a Sentinel would wear.

So the covers were shot over the course of a day and then the images were handed over to the always fantastic Sarah Hansen from Okay Creations. We didn’t want to recreate the same stock image used on the ARC cover, because what would be the point in that? So, we wanted something different, something more
Seth.
When I first saw the cover, I couldn’t get over how much it embodied Seth. And I think the character of Seth is kind of a hard character to really capture, because while he’s a sexy guy who likes to cuddle, he’s been through some real crap. He’s got secrets and demons, but he also has that charm and playfulness that is all him. Seth isn’t one to be afraid to show off the bod or give that lazy stare even though you know the boy can spring into action at any given moment.

The Fates are cackling their bony asses off…
It’s been a year since Seth made the deal with the gods that pledged his life to them. And so far, the jobs they’ve given him have been violent and bloody–which is kind of all right with him. But now Apollo has something else in mind for Seth. He’s got to play protector while keeping his hands and fingers off, and for someone who really has a problem with restraint, this new assignment might be the most challenging yet.
Josie has no idea what this crazy hot guy’s deal might be, but it’s a good bet that his arrival means the new life she started after leaving home is about to be thrown into an Olympian-sized blender turned up to puree. Either Josie is going insane or a nightmare straight out of ancient myth is gunning for her.
But it might be the unlikely attraction simmering between her and the golden-eyed, secret-keeping Seth that may prove to be the most dangerous thing of all.
Because history has once again been flipped to repeat.

Not only that, but Publisher’s Weekly has already reviewed The Return and had this to say:
“As Seth learns to restrain his violent instincts and Josie trains hers up, the romance and danger both escalate at a feverish pace. Armentrout dives deep into the psyches of both hero and heroine, deftly switching from one point of view to another, while creating a drum-tight sense of suspense and sexual tension from the first page to the last. This is a very promising start to the series.” – PW
I also have an interview I’d done with Drew a while ago for you.
Introducing Drew Leighty
Age: 25
Location: Santa Barbara, California
1. Is modeling your full-time job? If not, what else do you do?
I wish, but I’m also a father, a bartender (at The El Encanto, The Harbor Restaurant, and also Longboard’s Bar & Grill), while also being a Business studies major
2. How did you get into modeling?
I got caught in a scam, where I lost majority of my money when I first moved to LA at age 20. Soon I met Scott Hoover who opened the door for me into the industry.
3. Is The Return your first cover? How does it feel knowing you’re going to be in a book cover?
I have been featured on a few European and American magazines, however this one has given me the most publicity from such a positive and loving fan base that I wish it was my first. This is my first book cover, and I am lucky enough to have such a great manager to give me the opportunity to be working with an amazing author, which I couldn’t be more excited about.
4. When you were a kid, what did you want to be when you grew up?
I grew up playing baseball until I was 20 at Cal State Los Angeles, when the summer before my junior year a 16 year old fractured my collarbone with a 95 mph fastball (I called a curveball). He went on to be MVP of the College World Series for UCLA and was drafted by the Astros. That’s when I hung up the cleats and began my modeling “career.”
5. Favorite movie and TV show?
Favorited movie: Alpha Dog
Favorite TV show: The Killing on Netflix
6. You have such a versatile face. What are some of thecelebrities people have said you look like? I can think of three off the top of my head.
1.Channing Tatum
2. James Dean (the only reason I occasionally smoke a cigarette)
3. Paul Walker
4. Liam Hemsworth
5. Diane Kruger
Occasionally I get Brad Pitt or Charlie Hunnan (when I wear leather jackets and sport facial hair)
7. What is your ideal date?
I love dancing and I love wine. So I would go wine tasting and since I’m not a night owl, I would get a party bus that way my girl and I could dance the night away on our ride home.
8. A favorite memory growing up or recent?
Well since I have a son, it’s kind of like I get to relive my childhood. He’s gotten into this phase where he likes to sit on my face while I sleep, which is cool, it kind of hurts my neck sometimes. But the other day he sat on my face, he waited for a moment and I started opening my eyes, then he giggled. And lucky me, he farted. Then we both busted up laughing because we think farts are the best jokes told, or untold.
9. What is your favorite part about modeling?
Being the center of attention. I think in a sense all models have to be somewhat of a narcissist because we need to look good, we need casting directors to feel the same or in my case I need my manager Ellie, or Jen the author, and her fans to admire my attributes and believe in my look. However at the same time I take pride in what I do and I always try to portray the character the jobs ask for.
