On the Road… Back Home

I have to admit, being in transit is my least favorite part of traveling! I love the hotel rooms, and I enjoy meeting new people and getting ribbons and stuff, but the drive? Ugh, you can take it and keep it! Here I am, about to be loaded into the car on Monday. Can you see me in the carrier?

This was my set up in my human’s MINI. The half Sturdi shelter was firmly latched in with the seatbelts in back, and I had toys and a litter box (which I used the moment I was put in there), but I didn’t like it! I wanted to ride shotgun and hang out with my human and I complained the whole way home from Las Vegas to Los Angeles!

I could see through the mesh, but I didn’t really get to check out the scenery except for the couple of stops my human made to stretch her legs or to eat. Then she would let me out for a few minutes. If she went to the ladies room, like she did at this rest stop, I always came with her.

My human tried to make me feel better by telling me it wasn’t safe for me to run freely in the car while she was driving.

I promised that I would sit nicely in the passenger’s seat and be good.

I even offered to sit in the back, next to the Sturdi shelter instead of in it.

But my human pointed out that I never sat still for long in the car, and I invariably wound up places I shouldn’t be when she is driving. She is a big spoil sport! And she thinks I’m the spoil sport, or as she put it, a PITA — she said next time, she may fly with me because I will probably be quieter if she can spend more time talking and hanging out with me.

What a relief when the drive was over! Staying at the hotel and being in the cat show was special and fun, but there really is no place like home.
