Hi small question. Do Comic Book Creators get money from Reprint Issue sales? Or do they only get whats in the intial sale of the issue?

Like all contracts for freelancers, every situation is a little different.

Of the big two, you will get paid for reprints in most cases, I believe, and that does seem to be the case with most of the publishers I deal with.

One of the big two doesn’t pay foreign reprint royalties at all, the other does. The payment on digital has been a little confusing all the way around, but seems to be getting clearer. Some companies pay a flat fee and do not pay additional for graphic novels or digital sales. And of course some have more arcane deals, still.

In general, the creators USUALLY get something for reprints. It’s usually not a huge amount but it can be significant with a hit book that stays in demand.
