{Whereof, I Paul, am made a minister} I now rejoice in my sufferings for you,

and fill up in my flesh what is lacking in the afflictions of Christ, for the sake of His body, which is the church, Colossians 1:24

We are all on a journey. None of us have arrived. And no two paths are exactly the same.

Perhaps you are struggling with this idea of JOY. The thought of rejoicing in your current suffering is incomprehensible to you. That’s okay. JOY is no easy thing.

To fully grasp JOY one must be in the Father’s will. This is a process of submission {to Him} and trust {of Who He IS} . Sometimes over and over again. Through desolate valleys, and raging storms, and mountain top experiences.

JOY is truly a gift from the Father. Given by grace, through faith.

One of my most frequent prayers is, “Lord, increase my faith!” And He is faithful to do so. JOY, then, is not long in coming.

Oswald Chambers said:

{But} when our wills are rectified and brought into harmony with God,

it is a delight, a super-abounding joy, to do God’s will.

I’m fairly certain that if we could have a conversation with any one of the fifty women in Michelle DeRusha’s new book and ask them how they endured such suffering, they would answer, “Suffering? What suffering?”

This is not an easy place to get to, but it is a worthy place.

I believe once you’ve had a taste of His JOY that, like the deer panting for

the sweet mountain streams, you will forever yearn

and strive for the Living Water.

When have you experienced the delight in doing His will?

Blessings,
