OCTOBER.
Such a wonderful month here in Maine. Summer is slipping away taking with it the limited amount of warm sunshine allotted to us northeasterners. The leaves on the trees morph from green to various shades of fire before letting go and giving in to the upcoming dead season. The cooler days and nights are perfect for a nice Samuel Adams Octoberfest, or Shipyard Pumkinhead Ale. And of course…there’s Halloween and all the wonderful dark delights most of us horror authors love most. It’s the season of Texas Chainsaw Massacre, The Exorcist, Halloween, Friday the 13th. The season of Danzig, the Misfits, Type O Negative, and Alkaline Trio. The season of reading, (or re-reading) some of the top horror novels out there. I usually like to read ‘Salem’s Lot (which I read last October for the 4th time) or another one of King’s classics, but this year I’m changing it up.
I‘ve seen a few cool October Reading Lists out there; I thought I’d share my own. So here we go!
THE HALLOWEEN MAN- Douglas Clegg
DARK HARVEST-Norman Partridge
SUMMER of NIGHT- Dan Simmons
THE HALLOWEEN TREE by Ray Bradbury
DECEMBER PARK by Ronald Malfi
