how did your bromance with robin begin? could you talk about the relationship a bit?

Robin is the best. I think I met him at one of the local Vancouver cons, maybe through Robin Bougie (of Cinema Sewer fame) He interviewed me for his show at some point and then later helped me and Marian get into the apartment building he was in.

We became serious pals living in the same building and meeting up to talk comics. I think Robin’s thoughts on the medium and the comics scene have been a good influence on me. I appreciate that he’s into comics as a journalist or interviewer and isn’t trying to use that as a step into other comic work. He has an impressive code of ethics.

He helps me remember to keep my work indy helps me wrangle comic shows and sell pages and he makes a mean dark and stormy. I like that him and Marian would never let me do anything that wasn’t about trying to make good art.  —doing my Walrus book with PictureBox had a lot to do with his help and advice. I’m glad I know the guy.
