The Pastor and the Trinity: A Blog Series
In February 2009 C.J. was asked to contribute a chapter to a book being written for John Piper known to us only as “The Festschrift,” a top-secret project spoken of only in whispers. As you can imagine, C.J. was eager, humbled, and honored to participate in any project that honored Dr. Piper. Over the following months he worked on his essay under strict secrecy.
That secret book is now known by its permanent title: For the Fame of God’s Name: Essays in Honor of John Piper (Crossway, 2010). And now that it’s public we can talk about it. Even better, the publisher has graciously given us permission to post C.J.’s chapter here.
The chapter is titled “The Pastor and the Trinity.” It is intended to help pastors care for individuals in their churches through the broad work of the Triune God. It’s written for pastors, but all readers will benefit from reading it.
In this chapter C.J. shows how we can daily apply in our lives the grace of the Savior, the love of the Father, and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit. Over the following few weeks we will post the chapter in 11 parts:
