The Machine
I spend 40 minutes of my day on trains and I've often wondered if I could be doing something more productive with my time.
The thought did occur that I could be doing what I love, writing. So I bought myself a nice blank book and a good pen and set off with my first handwritten short story.
The Machine look five journeys to complete and I did get some people sneakily reading over my shoulder but it felt wonderful to write something new and explore a new set of characters.
I plan on polishing it up in the coming weeks and publishing it as a freebie for you all to enjoy. I've been thinking that someday I'll write it into a full novel and really explore the new world I've created.
