My Pet-Peeve of the Day

Today I’m going to go into a little rant about my Pet Peeve of the day.  The thing that I simply can’t stand is when you are expecting a written response from someone (or any sort of response at all) and you hear nothing.  For example, say you write a 550+ word article for someone, they say they really like it and that its exactly what they are looking for but suggest you write another and you do-you even shoot it right off to them because you want them to know how enthusiastic you are about the jig.   Days pass and you hear absolutely nothing.  You shoot them an email, to inquire on what they thought of your second article and complete silence- no it’s a no go- no nothing.  You’ve just wasted two completely good articles on a lifeless writing personality who doesn’t have the courtesy to let you know their thoughts.

Okay friends, here is the thing.  I don’t really care, this doesn’t really get under my skin because can write an awesome 500-650 word article in 45 minutes or less, my thing is that if you see that someone has put that much effort in taking the time to write an article for you-at least respond to them within a timely fashion.  At least have the decency to respond and say -“No this won’t work” or “I received your email and I need more time to give others a chance to respond.”  I would say that this sort of a response should go out within 24-48 hours, even if it’s to say that they need to give your article further consideration or that they have decided to go with someone else!  Reason being-it’s just the right thing to do.

The only worse thing that could happen in this sort of a situation is if you were to go on the requestors  website and see a similar article posted there, discussing the same information as the one that you wrote for them as a sample-only worded differently!  Ugh.
