Today we remember
It is September 11, 2014. No matter where we are from, most of us will remember exactly what we were doing on this day thirteen years ago.
I am Canadian. On this day in 2001 I was at University of Alberta heading to a class at the School of Business. The televisions came on in the hallways, the news broadcasting the horrors. I recall watching in disbelief the replay of the towers being hit. Although I was not there, nor did I personally know anyone who even lived there, I had a feeling of complete desolation, shock that what I was seeing could not possibly be real. Along with many others I watched the developments and said many silent prayers for those affected. The emergency responders, the victims, the families, and the rest of us. The disaster was replayed for days and weeks afterwards, permanently etching those images in my mind.
On this day my thoughts and prayers go out to everyone affected. God bless.
