It was the simplest of questions that had triggered my panic: ”What do you want for dinner?” 

Steak and fries, lasagna or pizza? When she saw my confusion, she decided for me.

“Steak and fries it is. I’ll clean the house, and you go shopping. I’ll make you a list. It’s great to have you back,” she added, but I saw the pity in her eyes.

I sit in the car trembling. I see her expression in my mind now, and I’m close to tears. What’s wrong with me? I need to get it together. I have the shopping...
