Remembering 9/11

We all remember where we were at what we were doing during the 9/11 attacks. It’s an event that forever changed our nation. Shortly after the attacks, many people within our church went straight into New York City to preach the message of hope–the gospel. It was during this time that we realized that the best evangelism method is really quite simple–love and listen.

Take time today (and for the rest of the year, for the matter) to truly love and listen to people. In doing this, you can build a bridge with them, entering into their lives and thus impacting them with the message of hope. Essentially, the best I can sum up this kind of evangelism is this: patient evangelism. Over time of really loving and listening to people, they will be more apt to have what you have.

So, I encourage you all to really listen to people’s story; find out more about their lives, their difficulties, and anything that they are willing to share. Sometimes it will take awhile, but it will sure be worth it in the end!
