My 10 Favorite Books of all Time!
I was nominated by Chris White to name my ten favorite books. Anyone who knows me realizes I read a lot. I tried to leave out children’s books. This was a difficult challenge! Here it goes. In no particular order:
Alive: The Corporeal Pull – I am partial to this book because I wrote it. Lets say the novelty has not worn off because I am currently writing its sequel.
To Conspire – Again I wrote it. I’m partial.
The Hobbit – I always liked this Tolkien book a bit better than the Lord of the Rings series, but lets be honest, they all rocked.
Clan of the Cave Bear – Something about a dual culture of primitive man co exiting in ancient times just holds my attention every time.
The Traveler – Yeah, I’m guilty of being a horse fanatic. I’m also a bit of a history buff. The civil war through the eyes of Lee’s horse… yes please!
Harry Potter – Like MnMs- Who can enjoy just one? I always tried to read these books in one sitting, because life might interrupt my fantasy if I slowed down.
To Kill a Mocking Bird _ Great read but why or why did Lee stop after just one amazing book?
The Da Vinci Code- This one kept me on the edge of my seat. The movie was a bit of a disappointment though.
The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn – I always identified with the main Character more than with his counter part, Tom. Great adventures with out leaving home. Twain had a great mind to eaves drop on!
The Crucible – Actually a play, but it has a cover so I’m counting it. This retelling of the Salem Which trials speaks of a darker element in humanity and our ability to accept one another and cope with our own insecurities and fears. It points out that even among those who operate under the guise of, mortality an element of danger seeks to use that system for other purposes.
I have read countless other great books written by independent authors like myself in the past year or so. I review many of them on my blog, sebgwrites.wordpress.com. Check them out!
