Wrapping Up Summer -- My Plans for the Rest of 2014 (Hint: Handcuffs)

There are only a couple weeks of summer left. There, I made myself type it. I still don’t want to accept it, but…
It’s almost time to move on. Denial will only make it harder.
Fall is actually my favorite season. I love everything about it, except for the fact that it means winter is on the way (*cringe*). So while I plot to move further South again (hey, fantasy and denial are two different beasts), I’m also plotting what the change of seasons will mean for me and my books.
This summer, work-wise, I was focused on the launch of my Lock and Key Series. It’s been exciting, to say the least, and it feels great to have Book 1out there and Book 2 ready to release (Sept. 19th).

It's a little alarming though to realize I'm halfway done with the series. Clearly, I'm going to have to come up with another excuse to write about men who carry their own handcuffs. ;)
Personally, I spent this summer focused on my goal of beating the Virginia Spartan Super Race. Guess what? I survived! LOL

Considering that I had to hold myself together with tape afterward and still am not quite back to normal, I don’t want to get too crazy with grandiose claims about future races. (Nothing happening on that front this fall … but I'd like to do a trifecta next year if I can get my joints into better shape.)

So maybe I should just stick to book related promises. Here’s what I’ve got planned for the rest of the year…
My Lock and Key Series launched in June with Book 1, Officer Next Door . Book 2, Officer out of Uniform will release on September 19th, wrapping up my summer. I have two more books planned in this series (Grey and Kerry’s story, and Jeremy’s story). There’s no date set in stone, but I’m shooting for a fall release day for Book 3 (Grey and Kerry).

After Lock and Key Book 3 I’ll be taking a little break from my series to work on something different. A surprise. All I’ll say for now is that it’s going to be fun and super hot. ;)
I also have my 7th ‘extra’ Inked in the Steel City book to write. The story has been going through my mind like a tumbleweed – I want to get it down on (digital) paper as soon as my schedule allows – early 2015 at latest, hopefully.
Fall also means I'll be visiting Cincinnati and Philly to sign books and have fun. Definitely looking forward to those cities.

So there you have it. This fall and winter, I’ll be busy – maybe too busy to notice the cold.
Hey, I can hope. While traveling to my Spartan Race I met a woman at a travel stop who told me that according to the Farmer’s Almanac, this winter is supposed to be soul-crushingly brutal. Naturally, her words have been haunting me and I’ve been doing so many Zillow searches for rentals with palm trees in the yard that my fingers are starting to hurt from so much clicking.
P.S. Tomorrow (Friday) I'll be sending out my last newsletter of the summer. It's going to include the very first sneak peek at Officer out of Uniform. If you want early access to part of Henry and Sasha's story, make sure you're a subscriber. ;)
