I Want to be an Author, How do I Start?
If you want to be a writer, you have to find your own way and your own writing style. You should choose between fiction and non-fiction, which type you prefer to writing. After you find your writing style, don’t be shy, post them so that people can see your work.
The First Step
You should have a blog. You can sign up for the blog, for example, wordpress, blogspot, wix, or other blogs that you know and are familiar with.
The Second Step
Write it everyday. You should keep writing your story or article everyday because this way, you can practice and improve your writing skills. People will find you automatically and they will probably comment on your work. This means they are interested in your story. You should keep it going.
The Third Step
Create your Author Facebook Fanpage. Every author must have his or her own fanpage no matter he/she is a famous or non-famous author. You should link your fanpage and your blog together. What you need to do is you have to update news in your fanpage or have some activities to increase talking about. This way will increase the number of Like naturally. You can ask other authors in your genre to help you like your fanpage as well.
The Forth Step
Create your Twitter account. Twitter is very popular social media channel. You have to link your website and twitter together. The concept is the same as Facebook fanpage. Grow your fans naturally. You should start following other people and other authors that have the same interests with you. Then some of them will follow you back. Grow your fans. After that you should tweet news or things that make them interest, and they might favorite or retweet your message. You can also tweet part of article and put the link of your blog in it. This way will make others click at the link and go to your blog to check it out.

Goodreads is the most powerful channel to let the world know that you exist. This site connects between readers and writers. You should register this site immediately and you will find out that millions of people are waiting to read, discuss, and update all the time. If you want to be author, then Goodreads is the place where you should start. In Goodreads, you can join groups, have book recommendations/recommend books to others, list your favorites books, create events, create polls, giveaway your books, and add more friends! There are millions of people who check on Goodreads everyday.
