Mid Week Tease: “Stop checking out my ass” #MWTease
I love long holiday weekends because look at that! Hello, it’s already Wednsday! Yesss
I’ve teased you with Colors of Us for the past few months. Now it’s available for you to download on your tablet, eReader, phone…wherever! It’ll be in print soon because I’m taking Hunter and Michelle on the road with me. Click here for my appearance schedule. Please come by and say hi if I’m in your neck of the woods. I’d love to meet you.
Today’s tease is from my WIP and the next book in the McAvery Brothers series, tentatively titles Passion of Us. It’s Alex and Miranda’s story. I love a fiery-I-can’t-stand-your-guts-but-you’re-still-sexy-as-hell reunion story, don’t you? Here’s the beginning of the opening scene…
“What kind of games are you and your brother up to now, Alex?”
McAvery’s Bar buzzed with patrons celebrating the annual Snowball Crawl through The Village. From his seat at the bar, Alex’s eyes flicked up and his lips upturned into a slow smile. He turned toward the source of the voice although he’d already known the owner. He’d know that voice anywhere: warm, sensual with a twang of Creole from her Louisiana roots. Her accent always became more pronounced the angrier she became. Judging by the way she said his name, she was pretty damn mad. Swiveling on his stool, his eyes locked on familiar brown eyes flecked with gold searing through him. He cursed as his cock jerked against his slacks. After four years, she was even more beautiful than he’d remembered. Taking a deep breath, he folded his arms. “Miranda Locke. I thought you said hell would freeze over before you walked into my bar again.”
“I need to talk to you.” She mimicked him by folding her arms but all he noticed was how her chest rose and fell from anger and her half dozen block or so walk from her gallery to the bar. “Follow me,” she ordered and swiveled on her stilettos which made her almost six foot frame even more imposing. The crowd parted as she stepped forward. Miranda’s presence screamed ‘don’t fuck with me’. He slid off the stool and followed as she lead a path to his office. His eyes washed over her curves and lingered on her leather skirted round ass.
She peeked over her shoulder when they reached the door. “Stop checking out my ass, Alex,” she said, turning the knob and striding into his office. She walked to the other side of his desk and sat in his leather chair. She always fought him for control. Damn her.
