Sometimes, Life Sucks

It's been a bad week. I had a close encounter of the clumsy kind with a tree branch and tried to poke out my right eye. I'd show you the lovely picture of me with half the side of my face bandaged, but the Internets are forever, so it ain't gonna happen. The good news is that it will hopefully be all right in the end. But I haven't managed to get much done over the last ten days or so because eyes are rather important to a writer.  I was able to devote some of those hours I spent lying in a darkened room with my eyes closed to plotting out my next book, though, so it wasn't a complete loss.

And then, probably because I was so stressed, I came down with a nasty respiratory infection. (And don't even get me started on my mom's house!) Hopefully things will sort themselves out in a few days. In the meantime, that's a picture of Indie eating the manuscript for Sebastian # 11. Yes, he still doesn't have  home of his own, and this manuscript still doesn't have a title. Maybe September will be better.

Sherry Ouch! Hope you heal up quickly, and things get back on track. At least kitten antics are a good distraction on bad days--the silver lining to Indie not finding a new home yet.

Thanks, Sherry. He is a darling, but he really needs his own person. Unfortunately, I'm starting to lose hope; he's growing so fast.

Sherry Don't lose hope yet! It's true that younger kittens are more adoptable, but I fostered one kitten (black, which always makes it harder) for a year before she found a home.

Maybe you can hook up with a local rescue to help advertise him? The rescue situation in New Orleans is likely very different, but the rescue I work with will courtesy post animals on Petfinder.com for people who are trying to rehome them.

I don't know what kind of advertising you are doing, but ads written from the cat's perspective are usually more eye-catching just because they are unusual.

C.S. Harris Sherry, I have posters up at my two vets, but I've been afraid to go beyond that since I worry about what kind of people would respond. I love the idea of writing an ad from Indie's point of view; will have to try it. Thanks!
