Chapter 201: Thunderstruck
Tamaes sat quietly, enjoying Adin’s bold way of speaking and Weft’s giggles. But a noise snatched his attention, and he shot to his feet. The sound had been smaller than one of Omri’s squeaks, but Tamaes was certain it had come from his mentor. Not a grunt. Not a groan. It had been more like a whine or a whimper.
Taweel sat in the corner, a crumpled tunic in his big hands, a stunned expression on his face. He lifted his eyes and struggled to find words.
Tamaes hurried to Taweel’s side and knelt. “What has happened?”
“I am Sent.”
