After years of reading Peroit in order, in well-spaced intervals, I have finally arrived at his grand finale, Curtain. Unfortunately, some years back I accidentally learned the ending (in an interview with Agatha Christie), something which, the more I’ve tried to forget it, the more it’s stuck.
